So, here are our online dating tips to help you through the maze of the internets fastest growing sector: Online dating!

1) Make your profile stand out! You wouldn’t respond to a woman’s profile that you didn’t find interesting and informative would you?? Make sure that your online dating profile is honest, forthcoming and fun to read!

2) Be adventurous (and realistic)! Even if your ‘dream girl’ might be 5 years younger than the women who seem to be matched up to you, or the perfect woman to you is 5’ 10” and weighs 120 lbs., don’t hesitate to strike up conversations with those who might not be a ‘perfect match’ to your online dating profile! You never know what’s going to happen when you think outside the box!

3) Keep up the ongoing conversations – when you meet a girl through an online dating service, you’re going to want to learn more about them. Be upfront about your expectations (i.e. are you looking for a casual relationship, or a long term relationship) and find out what her expectations are as well. There isn’t a lot of sense in continuing chatting with a woman you’ve met through an online dating service if you both have different goals!

4) Don’t rush! You might be in a real hurry to meet the girl of your dreams, but let’s be realistic, online dating isn’t like meeting someone at your local corner bar! Be prepared to share emails, exchange chats and even a few phone conversations before the woman you met through an online dating service.

5) OK so you’re now meeting! Now things become really important! When you’re meeting a woman for the first time through an online dating service, you’re going to want to keep some things in mind (a) meet in a public place; (b) carry your cell phone; (c) don’t expect (or ask) her to go back to her place; (d) be sure you’ve dressed appropriately.

6) Don’t try to get too personal too soon! Meeting a woman through an online dating service typically means that you don’t have any friends in common, you don’t really know too much about her right away, and you’re not too sure what her background is. It is highly recommended that you not share (too much) personal information right away! You may even want to consider a cell phone for communication purposes and not disclose exactly where you work or live right away.

7) Keep things light while keeping them on track! Remember you have all the time in the world to get to know the woman you’ve met through online dating. You may find after your first date that you are really interested in learning more. Statements of love (or lust), being overzealous, possessive or any of the other not so nice qualities that can put you off will put off the women you meet as well. There’s no need to rush! Take the time to know a person you’ve met through an online dating service the same way you’d take time to get to know a person introduced to you by your best buddy!

Keep in contact if you wish and break things off immediately if you don’t! It’s not nice (or smart either) to string someone along – if you’ve been chatting with a woman you’ve been introduced to through an online dating service, and you’ve decided after a period of time that you really don’t want to get any more involved with this woman then break things off immediately! By the same token, anyone who is talking about online dating tips will tell you that if you wish things to go forward then make sure that you don’t stop conversations and suddenly reappear three months later – it could be too late!

9) Future dates: If you have met a woman through an online dating service and you’ve met in person and decide that you are interested in dating further, then you should talk with her openly and honestly about your expectations for future dates (and yes, this does include who pays!). The further away you live from each other, the more necessary this becomes. For instance people in the same state might be able to see each other 2-3 times in a month, but those who live a few states away may have to plan their visits to each other more carefully.

10) Have fun! It’s been said many times that regardless of what you’re doing you should be having fun. Meeting someone through an online dating service has only one difference over meeting someone through your buddies – you know less about the person you met online! That can be cured through time and patience!
