Let’s face it, we don’t all look like George Clooney or like Angelina Jolie but we still have things to offer and when you’re working with an online dating site, you may still want to have a video dating profile.

So, there are some really easy ways to grab some attention when creating a video dating profile and draw attention away from your unattractiveness. So let’s talk about some of them and help you create the best possible online video dating profile without someone deleting your profile forever!

First, make sure you are wearing properly fitting clothes. Ladies that means you shouldn’t pour your size 14 body into that size 8 blouse and guys, put those chicken wings in a shirt that doesn’t show them off! Make sure they’re clean and don’t have remnants of your last meal on them too. Clean and well pressed clothing will enhance your look. Avoid shirts with raunchy sayings on them too – they can give off the wrong impression. Ladies leave the bathing suits in the drawer!

Next make sure your face, neck, ears and hair are clean! Don’t try to put your best face forward with spaghetti sauce all over it. If your hair looks like you’ve just been through an oil slick then you probably are going to turn someone off immediately – cleanliness being next to godliness and all that stuff. Men if you have facial hair make sure it’s well groomed. Ladies, go gently on the makeup – remember cameras enhance the colors and you don’t want to look like a clown!

Try to practice what you’re going to say before you record it. Stumbling around trying to find what you’re going to say on your online video dating profile is going to make you even less attractive. Try to at least act confident, even if you don’t feel all so confident. Many men and woman are very attracted to someone who appears to have confidence in themselves.

Smile, smile, smile – can’t overdo it! Make sure that you put on a bright and cheerful appearance; it’ll make you seem far more attractive than you really are. Being upbeat and positive comes through really well on a video especially when it’s genuine. If you feel like you’re forcing your smile that’s going to come through as well. If necessary watch a funny movie (or have one quietly running in the background).

Got a pet? A pet’s a great distraction in a video. Put the little critter up on your lap and introduce them during your video (make sure you want to attract someone who likes pets!) and that’ll help distract the viewer from you. You can even keep them on your lap while you’re talking about yourself!

Make sure that you use proper grammar and enunciate your words when making your video. That’ll help present you as well polished and help take the edge off those features that aren’t so attractive. Choose what you’re going to say carefully, if it’s something you’re comfortable with, you’ll come off far more confident than if you’re trying to force yourself to say things that are not natural to you!
